                                           BHUTAN                               

Bhutan is no ordinary place. It is the last great Himalayan kingdom, shrouded in mystery and magic, where a traditional Buddhist culture carefully embraces global developement.

Nestled in the Eastern Himalayas between China and India the small Buddhist Kingdom of Bhutan opened itself to the outside world only in 1960s. 

        RELIGION


Bhutan is the only Mahayana Buddhism Kingdom in the world, It is practised throughout the entire country by 75% of the inhabitants. Hinduism – closely related to Buddhism, is Bhutan’s second religion, practiced by about 25% of the population. 

    FOOD

Jasha Maroo or Maru (spicy chicken)

Although this mix of chilies, onion, tomato, garlic, coriander leaves and ginger is usually made with finely diced chicken, you will occasionally find it made with beef. .


You’ll eat ema datshi not only everyday when you’re in Bhutan, but likely for just about every meal when you’re in Bhutan. 

Kera

A woven cloth belt, 'Kera' is used by the Bhutanese to tighten their outfits. It is an added accessory to their overall attire which enhances their look. 

 Bhutan tourism 

Toego, a stylish piece of clothing, adds on to the look of the women attire. It is a short jacket like a garment and is worn by the women to compliment 'Kira'. It usually differs from the pattern, fabric and colour of the long robe taking the whole attire a notch-up!

Thimphu

Thimphu is an intriguing destinations and the capital of Bhutan. The city nestled in the higher ranges of the Himalayas offers astonishing sights of their emerald forests and beautiful view of the Raidak or Chuu River.  is culturally a must visit place graced with old world charms and modernity.
