JHARKHAND

Jharkhand is one of the most industrialised regions of the country today.The region accounts for 35.5% of the country's known mineral resources 90% of its coking coal deposits, 40% of its copper,22% of its ironore,90% of its mica and huge deposits of bauxite,quartz and ceramics.Jharkhand capital is RANCHI.Their main language is Hindi.It also called as "Bushland" or The land of Forest.It is in the 14th rank of states in India.It is the home of crops like
  • Jute                       
  • Millets                   
  • Tobacco          
  • Pulses                     
  • Wheat
  • Sugarcane
Festivals:
Major local festivals of Jharkhand are Karam, Jitia, Nawakhani, Sohrai/Diwali, Phagua, Dussehra, Tussu,Vaha,

Sarhul and Mage Porob etc.
Folk Music and Dance:
                   There are several Folk dance in Jharkhand such as,
  • Jhumair
  • Mardana
  • Jhumair
  • Janani Jhumta
  • Fagua
  • Painki
  • Chhau
The musical instruments used in folk song and dance are Mandar, Dholki, Bansi, Nagara, Dhak, Shehnai, Khartal, Narsinga etc.
Cuisine:
             Staple food for Jharkhand are rice, dal, vegetable and tubers.The famous dishes include Chirka roti, Malpua, Pittha, Dhuska, Arsa roti, Dudhauri, Litti chokha and Panipuri.Rugra and Putoo is a type of edible mushroom that is grown extensively in Jharkhand and harvested during the rainy months.It has a hardened,white,edible shell and a softer dark colored centre.Bamboo shoots are also used as vegetable.The leaf of Munga and Koinar tree used as leafy vegetable or Saag.
